They say that the light don't shine in this part of the world
I thought I was alone
Hidden, clothed, isolated, forgotten
The told me, "No one is coming, you're on your own!"
so I cried and rowed my boat
confused, afraid, hurt, trying to be strong
I ended up in a place where a little light shown
I cried out loud,
"This could be it! My star, my heart, my own!"
But it wasn't my star, it was somebody else's
from another woman across the island,
where her star shines brightly for her, all the days of her life
They stare with each other,
they can go one for hours, days, and life times
They spoke poetry, they laughed, and I cried
I envy that woman
because she has her very own star
One who won't die for her, one who chose to live for her
