Backlog Reading

This is a picture of what used to be my study table. It is now filled with my books and my babies’ books. As you can see, it is multi-purpose. It is also used to stack food and my baby’s bottle. It’s crazy!

2 books down this year.
1. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - JK Rowling. I can't wait for the 2nd part showing this July.
2. Practical Magic - Alice Hoffman. It was a disappointment. I had expected a lot better than the movie, but it turns out that the adaptation was better than the novel.

I am currently reading Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix. I've been skipping. I read books 1-4, skipped to number 7, now reading number 5 and after this, I'll read number 6. I skipped because no. 5 was boring and it took me years deciding to read it again.

4 more to go:

1. Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince - JK Rowling
2. Soul Mountain - Gao Xingjian. My friend JP gave this to me. He knows I like Chinese literature and epics.
3. Mein Kampf - Adolf Hitler. I'd love to get into his mind. I bought this book as a gift to my hubby, but (as always) end up reading it myself. The man easily gets bored.
4. Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens. I've always wanted to read it. I like how it starts "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way . . ." as usual, I backlogged and it's true that with a baby around, you can hardly read a book. I lost count the number of times I've read this paragraph. It's so beautiful.
