I had observed that most women I know who had given birth lately, went through a Caesarian procedure just to make things easier. I must say, based on my experiences with my two boys, that as much as possible, it is a whole lot better if you choose the most natural way of giving birth. I had a normal delivery with Migue, and a C-sec with Dean because there were complications. Normal delivery heals faster, it is much easier to get back in shape, and most of all... much affordable!
And what are these news about some doctors? They tell you everything is fine on your prenatal visits and on the day you give birth, everything just went wrong. A normal delivery would cost as much as 20,000+ whilst the C-sec cost 130,000+. On both my pregnancy I had different doctors. I love my first doctor but she migrated to the states after I gave birth.
When I delivered Migue out into this world, I had 24 hours painful labor, no epidural or anesthesia. The only anesthesia that was injected to me was after my delivery, that was when they sewed my cut (you know where that is). At the end, it was very rewarding. The cost didn't hurt that much and 2 days later, my baby and I were home with his Papi.
When I delivered Dean, I had a new OB-Gyne because as mentioned earlier, doc 1 migrated. I had some doubts with the doc 2 because she always assured me that everything was OK. But on the day I was about to give birth, things got complicated and I had to go through the very expensive surgery to give birth.
Both experiences were very much different. On my 7th month, I asked if there was a need for an ultrasound like my doc 1 advised me before, doc 2 told me that there was no need for another one, but I went to get one anyway to check on my baby's gender.
Good thing we did, right then we found out that I was losing water in my bag. If I didn't, it is much likely that Dean would be born prematurely. Reservation for incubator is 30,000 pesos (from the hospital I was confined in).
The terrible thing about the whole experience was, not being able to hold my baby for 3 days. I was in bed, tied up with the catheter, the pain, and my weakness. I lost 3 litres of blood because the veins of my mattress were thumb size. I had fever and was itching all over because of the blood donated. I suffered days not being able to hold my baby. Going to the nursery was difficult because they don't allow wheel chairs in. My baby was with tubes for oxygen and IV fluid. The whole experience was traumatic, I cried a lot.
So take my advice, as much as you can, take the normal delivery. It is safer, more affordable, and it is the better choice. Don't be afraid to go through the labor pain. Believe me, they are very rewarding once you see your cute angel, then you can boast about it someday, you will be proud for having been through those things.
I'd like to repeat that, I'd rather be called a slut, a bitch, a whore, than be called "irresponsible mother". Ha! You men don't know what it feels like fighting for your baby's and your life at the same time. You mother fuckers and bitches better say something right and nice or I will slap you hard or kill you even.
