How do you choose which book to buy? Is it by the author? The title? By reading the synopsis? By reviews? By its cover? By bestseller?
I choose my book by author, reviews and synopsis. If I like the author, I buy all his/her books. So far I like men writers.
This is a very good example of “Do not judge the book by its cover.” I bought this from a forum. It’s got no picture. I bought it because I was attracted to the title (I like pirate movies and stories), then I googled it and read the reviews. It has good reviews. I googled the author too and I find the his biography quite interesting. You can check it out here. I hate covers with a man and woman posed as lovers or covers like the above. This book is easy to read and you could finish this in two-three hours but choose not to because it’s way too good to finish it right away. It’s never boring. This is one of those books that is hard to put down. I give it 4 and 1/2 stars for this one.
I bought David Sedaris’ “Me Talk Pretty One Day” because it’s a best selling, it’s got good reviews that I didn’t bother to read some of its parts. Sad to say, I was disappointed. I never see it as funny as Jessica Zafra’s. So another lesson learned is that “Never judge the book by its reviews.”
