Lessons On Frugality

My spoiled brat attitude had once again won over my husband's practicality. Yey!
A week ago, I fell in love with a cheap phone that Ernel and I found at the mall. Unfortunately, at that time, we had zero cash in our pockets. I tried ringing mommy, perhaps I could borrow some money i thought. But I got her call back late night because she was at a meeting. church stuff.

To my dismay, she didn't agree to my plea. Here's how the conversation went:

Me: Hi meh, How ya been?
Mom: I'm good. I was at the out reach. What do you need? (mother's intuition telling her that I do need something)
Me: Err.....I was wondering if could borrow some money. Just two thousand pesos.
Mom: What do you need the money for? (I'm betting she's raising her eyebrows at the moment because the tone of her voice had changed)
Me: I'm gonna buy a new phone that I really like
Mom: Another phone? What do you need so many for? !%*&&^$#@%%$()*&$@!%^*(

The rest of the conversation was gibberish. I politely said it's ok. thanks anyway.
I hang up. ran to Ernel and tears were falling down my cheek.

Me: !@#$&(^+@##%^!##$?/#$%^
Ernel trying to look firm but empathetic: Honey, you can't always get what you want. You have no right to be upset with mommy.
Me: dshfsdjjfhjf!@#@#@#$@$@#$#$@%^%^&&^&

You can just imagine what I have been saying at that moment.
Ernel was trying to wipe the spoiled brat tears running down my cheek.

Ernel at a very soothing voice: Can't you wait 'til I get my money and we can buy it together next week?
Me: I really love that phone...waaaaaaaaaaah!

After hugs and kisses by my sweet loving hubby. I was feeling better.
A week have passed. After constant annoyance I've given to Ernel, I finally got it!
Yey! It is just this really simple phone actually.

Thank you to the most understanding and loving husband in the whole world! Ernelle James Omayan :* I finally got my hands on this. *smug*
